CROSSING ATTENDANTS REINFORCING SAFETY

The Situation

Sharon, a stay at home mom, saw inconsistency in the crossing guards crossing her children across the street each day on the way to school. Some days there would be no crossing guard at all, putting the children at risk. For the safety of her own children and the other children in the community, she wanted to develop a safety training program that would provide quality school crossing attendants who cared about the children in their community.

The Solution

Fulling focused on developing and managing the financial operations side of her company so that she could focus on the safety programming development and attendant recruiting of quality employees. Fulling also assisted with contract negotiations with local municipalities to secure contracts for providing school crossing services to local school districts.

The Results

The company, with over 70 employees, has provided local school districts crossing attendants for more than 60 crossing locations around the Johnson County, KS area. The owner has been able to invest quality training time with each new hire and has been recognized by the Department of Transportation for the State of Kansas to be a leader in developing safety programming for school crossings.
